I am Kullawadee Somboonviwat. I currently serve as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering at Kasetsart University Sriracha Campus, Thailand. I earned my Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Information and Communication Engineering from the University of Tokyo, and my B.Eng. in Computer Engineering (1st Class Hons.) from KMITL.
My research focuses on bridging the gap between digital computation and the physical world. As the head of the DAISE Labâa specialized group affiliated with the the Green-Smart Energy Technology (G-SET) Research Unit. I specialize in engineering Advanced Data & AI Systems that are robust, constrained by physical laws, and ready for real-world deployment.
Research Focus
- ⥠Cyber-Physical Energy Systems: Developing intelligent frameworks for PV-Battery Nanogrid management, Wind Turbine predictive maintenance, and the creation of Battery Digital Twins for long-term reliability.
- ðïļ Scalable Infrastructure & Edge AI: Architecting full-stack systems, massive dataset pipelines, and Edge Computing solutions that allow AI models to run efficiently on-site and in real-time.
- 𧎠Data & AI for Science: Applying scalable data engineering and software engineering methodologies to bioinformaticsâspecifically developing tools to uncover the impact of small RNAs (piRNAs/miRNAs) on immune modulation.
